Growing as a Martial Arts Business Owner by KJN Richard Hackworth

Growing as a Martial Arts Business Owner by KJN Richard Hackworth

As we school owners are bouncing back from COVID I want you to know that that time to grow personally and professionally is NOW!

Today I will share with you an idea that dramatically improved my life. The idea is that if I want things to get better, I must get better. The only way for things to change, I must change. And for things to improve, I must improve. I was on a mission to reach my full potential. It wasn’t enough to hope my business, chain of command or community would help to take care of me. I needed to take care of myself.

So, what can you do to get better, stronger, and smarter?

What can you do in terms of study and practice? If I were coaching you one-on-one, I would ask you…

Which 10 books are you going to read next and why?

What content are you consuming online and is it going to help you in your life and your business?

What mentors or coaches do you have in your life and how do they help you improve your life and your business?

What other habits, morning routines and daily rituals are you doing to help you grow as a teacher and school owner?

If you are constantly growing, there’s no end to the amount of improvement you can make in your life. There’s no limit to the amount of income you can create. You can improve your health, you can generate relationships, and you can nurture your business to achieve unlimited success.

When I started my martial arts school, I was barely earning minimum wage the first six months. Today it’s hard to calculate how much I make in an hour. It’s hundreds of dollars an hour or more.

How did that happen?

I’ve read more books on personal growth, self-development, and mindset than virtually anyone I know. On average I’ve read a book a week for at least 30 years. I pay attention to what works for other people. I surround myself with people who are smarter than I am. It’s like a time machine. I can be one year smarter without being one year older. I put the things I learn into practice and have the philosophy that I never lose, I only learn. They say that knowledge is power. I would like to improve that by saying that applied knowledge is power.

Learn something and apply it to your life. If you are always seeking improvement, you can decide what you make of your life, and nobody can stop you.

So, my challenge to you is, take charge of your life. Focus on how you can improve, and everything will improve.

To your health, wealth, and success,
Richard Hackworth
